We Vibe Gala Review
The theory behind these twin tip clit vibes is enough to have any precise stimulation lover throwing cash at their nearest retailer. The idea of slotting my clit between two powerful and precise motors has my genitals dancing for joy. Unfortunately, in practice, it’s never quite lived up to the theory. I had almost given up hope on my clitoral dream. Until I spotted the We Vibe Gala. If any brand was capable of getting it right, surely it was We Vibe? They understand power. They understand precision.
If you buy a luxury vibe, you expect luxury packaging. I would be a whole lot of annoyed if I shelled out over a hundred for a sex toy and it turned up in a flimsy box. Fortunately, We Vibe isn’t letting anyone down with their Gala packaging. The sturdy box houses everything you need. The We Vibe Gala, a storage pouch, usb charging cable and a sachet of lube.
The design of the We Vibe Gala had me excited in a way the prospect of most sex toys don’t. Soft body safe silicone in a seamless deep salmon pink. But those prongs, each with their own motor at the tips, they were the cause for my anticipation. The whole vibrator is firm and rigid, with even the prongs only having the slightest cushioning and flexibility.
The pebble shape of the Gala is comfortable to hold throughout play, whilst the motors being housed in the tips ensures the vibes are less numbing to your hand. The three buttons are placed perfectly to change the controls during use, although there is the option of using the We-Connect App to mix the vibes up too.
Whilst the vibrations are not incredibly loud, they certainly aren’t as whisper quiet as those of the We Vibe Nova. I do need an empty house or some background noise if I want to pleasure myself discretely. Fortunately, the Gala is completely waterproof. So usually if I want to release some orgasms in secret, I hop into the bath or shower.
As with most rechargeable sex toys, the We Vibe Gala charges via a usb charging cable. You do pay a price for the high-quality rumbling motors of a We Vibe sex toy. It does need charging quite frequently. I’ve found I can get around four short sessions from the Gala before the roaring vibes start turning to a sexually frustrating mumble. At least charging is quick and easy, only taking 90 minutes to fill back up with orgasm inducing fuel.
I love the simple three button controls of this vibrator. I can navigate them easily whilst I’m getting off thanks to their raised design. The Gala features both an increase and decrease button, as well as a button in the middle to change patterns. Holding the plus button down will turn the toy on and holding the minus button down will turn it off. You will be waiting a good few seconds for either to kick into action though. I guess We Vibe wants to make sure you’re absolutely certain…
If you want to know what a rumbly vibrator feels like, there is no toy better to demonstrate than the We Vibe Gala. It is the epitome of a rumbly vibe. So much so, I even find myself wishing it had just a touch of buzz to it. And they are words I never thought would come from me. Luckily for me and my shocking need for more buzz, if I scroll along to the ‘crest’ pattern the Gala does supply me with it.
In terms of power, of course, the Gala has it in abundance. I mean, it’s We Vibe! However, something about the design makes these transmit badly to my clit. It feels as though the rumble is too muffled by the exterior of the toy. If I compare it to the We Vibe Tango, well, it just doesn’t compare. Despite its deceiving design, it is likely to be better suited to fans of broad stimulation.
I have had this sex toy, before reviewing it, longer than I ever have with another. Because I just can’t make my mind up. I keep thinking, ‘Maybe I’m doing it wrong?’ It’s We Vibe. It has to be amazing. Right?
I have tried inserting my clit through the gap countless times with absolutely no luck. The prongs are just too rigid and too large. I have tried turning it around and having the prongs above and below my clit. It doesn’t work. I’ve tried it with lube and I’ve tried it without. As far as I’m concerned, the prongs are great in theory but frustratingly ineffective in practice.
So Aurora, you’re saying it’s a crappy sex toy right?
No. It just doesn’t work in the way you would expect it to. The way it is clearly designed to. As a lover, actually no, a needer of precise stimulation I have found a way to get what I need from the We Vibe Gala. I turn it on its side and use only one of the prongs. You can split the motors so all the power juice is going to that one prong. And I finally get the orgasmic joy I expect We Vibe to bring me.
Something I do appreciate about the We Vibe Gala is that you can achieve both precise and broad stimulation with it. If you experiment enough. And who knows, maybe the thick and rigid prongs would work for someone else?
Yes, I can achieve the pleasure I want from the We Vibe Gala. But, I’m lazy. And it feels a bit too much like hard work. I want a toy (the We Vibe Tango) that I can pick up, switch on and get off. I understand the thought process behind this vibe, I get what We Vibe wanted to create, I just don’t think it really works in practice. The power of the motor places it in my ‘most reached for vibes’ pile, but the design honestly annoys the hell out of me. If those tips more closely resembled the ears of a rabbit vibe, it could have been something truly amazing.
If you would like to purchase the We Vibe Gala you can get one here for £119.99
Huge thanks to We Vibe for sending me the Gala in exchange for an honest review!
