Lovehoney Moonlight Babydoll Review

If you’ve spotted the fast-churning release of sexy lingerie collections at Lovehoney, you can probably understand why I say, “How the hot hell do they do it?!” Every. Single. Collection is as gorgeous as the one before. They are always unique. They are always jaw-dropping. And they always have me reaching for my purse and excitedly throwing money in their direction. Never, ever will there be enough sexy lingerie in my life. You can’t ever have enough of something that makes you feel that good. And that is exactly what the Lovehoney Moonlight Babydoll did. It made me feel seriously damn good about me. And we can all use some of that, right?

Design

With a classic combination of wine coloured satin and black patterned lace, the Moonlight Babydoll has got ‘sexy and sophisticated’ nailed. The colouring has a sultry essence that when wearing, makes me feel dangerously seductive. Whilst described as a babydoll, it definitely has a tighter fit which is more reminiscent of a chemise. Though the skirt of this babydoll does flare minimally, adding a deliciously curvy silhouette to my depressingly bricklike shape.

The details of the Lovehoney Moonlight Babydoll take it from wow, to something far superior. Like, mega wow? Holy wow? Fuck me now before I combust into flames wow? The trio of cute satin bows are expertly placed to draw the eye to the chest. With the classic Lovehoney charm featured in silver on the central bow. The whole babydoll has been thoughtfully designed, as the detailing on the back proves. The beautifully delicate and adjustable lace straps mean whether you’re doing cowgirl or doggy, your partner gets an eyeful of your heavenly self, in divine lingerie.

The lace panel front allows for a peek at your skin underneath. With beautiful scalloped edges, I do feel it is somewhat let down by the seam going through the middle. Perhaps it is an attempt to elongate your torso in combination with the flattering ‘V’ shape lace? But, I can’t help thinking the Lovehoney Moonlight Babydoll would have a more seamless appearance without it. Literally, seamless. The aforementioned ‘V’ shape though, is the answer to my plus size prayers. It allows for the flatter areas of my middle to shine through, whilst my lumps and bumps are concealed by the opaque satin.

G String

Whilst definitely matching, the g string that accompanies the Lovehoney Moonlight Babydoll is quite simple in design. The sort you might pick up in a bargain bucket. Basically, it’s an elasticated sting with a triangle of satin and some lace attached. However, they somehow still manage to look good on me. The elastic doesn’t dig too much into my padded sides and the lace adds some sultry goodness to the back. I do wish they used more material at the front though. If it weren’t for the fact I’m shaven, I would have a bush poking out from all sides.

Fit

An issue I consistently have with Lovehoney Lingerie is in the slightly broad size guide. Can lingerie cover two sizes and fit them both to perfection? Well, it certainly can fit them both. But to perfection? Not so much. As a size 16 I am the larger of the sizes. Giving me a babydoll that is slightly shorter (barely covering my bum when I am only 5ft 2) and more fitted than me and my pot belly would like.  Buy the size larger though and I am swamped. I guess I’ll just have to lose some weight or gain some pounds. Pass the cheese and chocolates, please…

The padded cups encompassed my breasts perfectly. Adding support, cleavage and for my post-baby droopers, some much-needed lift. For reference, I am a size 38C. There is no doubt these would allow for larger cup sizes and a B cup could likely get away with not being drowned. Just a little deprived of oxygen perhaps.

How Does It Feel?

I really do feel like a sex kitten in this lingerie. I feel confident, I feel desirable and I feel like I want to run my hands all over my body because the satin feels so damn good. No itch or irritation. Just pure tactile bliss.

If I had to describe it in one word it would be. effortless. It’s effortless to put on and it is effortless to wear and move around in. And the truly magical thing about it is that nothing looks effortless about the Lovehoney Moonlight Babydoll. If I had five minutes to put this on, I’d have time to shave my legs as well. It is the lingerie of my lazy girl dreams. I can go from sofa time slob to sex kitten in under sixty seconds. This is likely due to the fact I don’t undo the hook where the lace meets below the back of my neck. If I did, it would be more like sofa time slob to sex kitten in sixty years. Much too fiddly for my uncoordinated fingers.

Conclusion

I don’t know who designs the Lovehoney lingerie, but they are extremely talented. They are masters of lingerie, body shapes and sex appeal. When I put this on all my little niggles are forgotten. This babydoll makes me feel amazing. It makes me feel seductive, feminine and confident. It makes me feel exactly how great lingerie should!
